Why Bullies Act the Way They Do
Bullies are often just children who are unhappy or confused. They may be shy and use bullying as a tactic to get attention. Bullies usually have a lot going on that we do not know about. There may be social or emotional causes that make them act out, they use bullying as an outlet. An expression of their frustration. Taking their aggression out on others is often a way to act out the aggression they have toward the situation they are in.
However that in no way justifies bullying.
Won’t Self Defense do more harm than good?
Bullying can bring around more violence than a little self-defense. The shootings at schools are caused by bullying. These people can’t cope with the constant bullying their whole lives, so they shoot up a school. It causes serious problems. If kids are taught self-defense to put an end to bullying, bullying will stop.
Bullies are just kids who think they are bigger and stronger than other kids. Sometimes, this is true. However, bullies are well-known for not fighting. However, if the bullying does persist and the bully continues to get physical, some good old-fashioned self-defense will help. It’s like magic. When a bully looks up at the kid he was picking on from on the ground, he is not so tough anymore. Now, it’s over.
Won’t my kid get in trouble for fighting?
Absolutely. But do you want your child to keep letting himself get pushed around?
Of course not.
One little mark on this kid’s record isn’t going to hurt him nearly as much as a lifetime of bullying. Also, most fights will only receive a verbal reprimand, with a week’s suspension being the maximum punishment. You should always consult a teacher before using self defense. But if the bullying persist, your child needs to take things into his own hands and knowing how to defend himself is crucial.
If explained to the principal that witnesses saw the first blow being thrown by a bully, or that the kid was subject to constant bullying, the punishment could be lessened. Also, the pride of actually taking down a bully, knowing you did something right, and being a school hero is worth it.
As parents, our main concern is how to protect our children.
Below are some suggestions that have proven successful over the years for me.
1. Teach them not to react – At the core, bullies say and do what they do to illicit a reaction from their ‘victims’. The first and best way to counteract a bully is to ignore him. Teach your children that if a bully gets in his face, to smile or laugh and walk away. When doing so, walking towards a teacher or other adult.
2. Teach them to talk with adults/teachers – If your children are being bullied, help them understand that it not only affects them, but affects all of the children who go to school with them. Help them to understand that bullying is not tolerated at their school and that their teachers and administrators would want to know if there is a student who is bullying others.
3. Teach them to defend others – Teach your children to notice when other kids being bullied and to stand up for them. Often times, all it takes to stop a bully is to have other children get involved and show that they will stand with the ‘victim’.
4. Teach them to fight back if attacked physically – Teach your children that it is always right for them to defend themselves. If another child attacks them physically, they should defend themselves by fighting back. If they have friends around, their friends should get involved to help defend them. Their physical response should be proportional to what was done to them. Once the bully has backed down, they should stop.
5. Enroll your kids in martial arts – One of the best things you can do for your kids is to enroll them in a martial arts course. These courses teach self defense that is highly effective, but they also instill a huge amount of self confidence and self control that can be effective when dealing with bullies. Sometimes, just knowing that your child is taking kick boxing or Karate is enough to take them off the list of potential targets from bullies.
If you use these strategies, you will very likely see your child become less of a target for bullies.

This piece of writing about toy recall will take an amateur’s look at this entertaining subject. It will give you the facts that you need to know most when it comes to toys and security. Parents do everything they can to make their children safe at least everything they think to do. They cover up the plug sockets so that their children can not get electrocuted, they check on them during the night to make sure that they are alright, they supervise them every moment of the day. Yet one of the most important safety activities a parent can do is something that is often neglected by many of the parents I know: checking for toy recalls. Ever since the Fisher-Price toy recall, the hazards of potentially dangerous toys have been in the public eye. This, however, is not the first dangerous toy recall, and it will not be the last. A lot of people will remember the Australian toy recall that happened about a year ago. Apparently, some small beads the type of thing the kids love to put in their mouths had a chemical paint on them that, when metabolized, would turn into the date rape drug GHB. Although no one was killed as a result of this, someone could have been. As it was, several kids got sick And had to be hospitalized.
For the rest of this piece of writing, we will discuss the meaning behind what we have learned about this subject so far. Lead paint still seems to be the most common source of toy recalls. That was what the Chinese recall was about. A lot of Fisher Price toys were painted with lead paint. If the paint was ingested, kids could develop long-term neurological problems that would affect them for their whole lives. Although the toy recall has had some effect, there are still thousands upon thousands of Fisher-Price toys out there with lead paint. They haven’t been successfully recalled because some parents don’t really keep up on the news well enough. Personally, I subscribed to several toy recall lists online. These lists give me all the news about recalled toys before it hits the media. Yet for me, even this isn’t enough. You have to do some background research so that you can catch potentially unsafe toys before they are recalled. A lot of my friends have taken to completely boycotting toys made in China. They believe that this step is necessary because consumer safety standards are not up to snuff in that country. I haven’t taken this radical step myself yet, but I have contemplated it. After all, nothing is more important than the safety of my children. I would rather err on the side of caution than have them ingest toxic chemicals from a poorly made toy. Try and Copy/Paste a keyword from the title of this educational piece of writing about toy recall on your preferred search engine and you are sure to discover huge amounts of knowledge.

It is fairly common for children to be potty trained around the age of 2 or later. However, there is another option that has its own benefits, baby potty training. It may be hard for some families to do, but it can be a way to save a lot of money and help the environment at the same time. This article will discuss 5 advantages of potty training your baby early.
1. Promotes Baby-Bonding: Though there has been no scientific study on the matter, supporters of this method claim that infant potty training can bring you closer to your baby. Because you have to be so closely in tune to your baby’s signals of whether or not they need to use the potty, it creates a form of communication between the two of you that normally would not be present.
2. More Comfortable: Many people believe that a lot of crying and fussing is due to diaper irritation. Because you use very few to no diapers with this technique, your child will avoid the troublesome rashes associated with wearing diapers.
3. Grows Independence: Some advocates believe that going without diapers will allow your baby to exercise their independence as you can encourage them to crawl to the potty themselves, rather than being tied down by diaper changes.
4. Reduces Diaper Waste: It is no secret that using disposable diapers leads to considerable waste that ends up in our landfills. Using cloth diapers can be a better solution but comes with its own negative environmental effects as it uses considerable energy to launder them. Baby potty training can also be friendlier to your family budget.
5. Is More Normal and Natural: Across the globe in Africa and Asia mothers often carry their undiapered infants around. They have become accustomed to reading the signs of their babies to avoid being soiled, and simply hold them away from their bodies. While this technique won’t work as well for modern families the same principles of anticipating your child’s needs apply.
In this article we looked at 5 advantages of potty training your baby early. Going without diapers can promote baby bonding, can be more comfortable for the baby, help them enjoy more independence, reduce diaper waste and is more normal and natural.

The path from birth to responsible adult life is often a mysterious one. People have always tried to make sense out of it. Since the birth of modern psychology there have been many child development theories proposed. The next few paragraphs will discuss some of the more significant ones
Freud explained a lot of human psychology in sexual terms. He thought that even infants and children were obsessed with sex. He claimed that the focus shifted with age. His terms for the phases are widely known: oral, anal, phallic, latency, and genital. Most current psychologists think that children have much less interest in sex. It is also thought that he didn’t give enough attention to female development.
It is a truism that people are affected by their environments. Ecological systems theory works at studying this systematically. It analyzes the world of the child as multiple environments. The innermost layer is the micro system. This would cover the neighborhood, school, and family. The larger society is referred to as the macro system. This consists of not only the culture, but the level of prosperity and other factors. Things that change are part of the chrono system. For a child, this could include the birth of a new sibling, or an older sibling leaving home. The theory also considers the interactions between these environments. It has increased our understanding of the relationship between children and their environments.
Jean Piaget is well know for his work on child learning. He designed a theory of cognitive development that is based on developmental stages. He claimed that the majority of people go through these stages in the same order. He began with the sensorimotor stage, common to infants and young toddlers, where they have to touch things to learn. When a person achieves the formal operations stage, they are fully able join the world of adult thought.
Attachment theory primarily studies the role of interpersonal relationships in the life of the growing child. It finds that children need to each have at least good relationship to a caregiver to be able to deal with the challenges of childhood. This theory has been a useful tool for creating tools for resolving problems related to the mental growth of children.
Erik Erikson’s theory of psychosocial development is not limited to childhood. It has eight stages, the last three of which cover adulthood. At each stage there is a problem that must be solved before starting the next stage. The first stage, which applies to infants, is about learning to trust the caregivers.
Fifty years ago behaviorism was the primary thrust of psychological research. It is based on what can be measured or directly observed, rather than internal thought processes. It has led to some useful conclusions on child development. Other approaches have been developed recently that are less radical in their treatment of unobservable phenomena.
Even with all these theories, children can still be mysterious. This is not to deny that there has been progress. Psychology understands a lot more than it did a century ago. Hopefully this progress will continue.

Students that have a special interest in areas that include psychology, sociology, anthropology, and biology should contemplate earning an online degree in human development. Online schooling provides students with plenty of specializations to choose from because the field is so broad.
Human Development is a multidisciplinary subject that focuses on how humans learn, transform, and develop over time. Academic study centers on teaching students about individuals and groups across a lifetime, which is coupled with the intention of showing how an individual or group fits inside their community. Subject matter instructs students on how to work with children, teenagers, parents, and elderly people to help them handle the pressures of life. This definition can be directly applied to a number of viewpoints. Inside the realm of biology, study encompasses physiological factors of how people handle life. Sociologists are taught how the different aspects of human development coordinate with the roles played out by people inside social, cultural, and political contexts. One of the most popular forms of application is psychology. Study is centered on human behavior and how it is displayed through language and perception.
Education is available starting at a bachelor’s degree and is offered up to a doctorate degree. What students want to accomplish in the professional industry determines what degree level they should enter. Starting positions in organizations and companies require students to earn a bachelor’s degree. Students that want to enter executive, teaching, counseling, or research careers need to gain a graduate degree.
A bachelor’s degree program can prepare students through courses that place a strong emphasis on working with children, adults, and the elderly. Students learn about an individual’s lifespan and how it affects them in a variety of areas. This study breaks down different aspects of a lifespan by providing subject matter on cognitive, physical, social, and family development and how it applies to everyday life. Curriculum could include topics on advanced adolescent development, adulthood, child abuse, gerontology, and human development. Graduates with a degree can work within private and public organizations. Positions as a caseworker, senior center coordinator, and child program teacher can also be entered upon completion.
A master’s degree in human development trains students to work with couples and families. Work could involve implementing learned skills in areas that include aging health aspects, child life studies, and family troubles. Coursework enables students to enter careers in counseling and education. A PhD allows students to learn how to analyze social behavior in hospitals and mental institutions. Learning teaches students to look at the scientific and social reasons that affect change in an individual over the course of their life. This can be applied to jobs in psychology and administration. Advanced degrees are a good choice to gain maximum flexibility inside the profession.
